Naturally, I had to get there as quickly as possible. The door says &#8220;Est 1972&#8221;, but who really knows. What I do know is it&#8217;s a delightful little shop. There you can get a hot dog and some ice cream, as well as big foot candy and all sorts of other oddities.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"The Peculiarium by frykitty, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/frykitty\/6241273213\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6043\/6241273213_0fd3be8bb4_m.jpg\" alt=\"The Peculiarium\" width=\"240\" height=\"186\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are horror scenes set throughout the store&#8211;devil babies in cribs and the ashy remains of a spontaneous combustion victim, to name a few. I should have taken pictures of some of those.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"The Peculiarium by frykitty, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/frykitty\/6241789728\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6105\/6241789728_dca073b2ca_m.jpg\" alt=\"The Peculiarium\" width=\"240\" height=\"167\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Instead, I couldn&#8217;t resist snapping a pic of bigfoot. The place is also filled with Halloween masks, and tons of offbeat art. It was <a href=\"http:\/\/gesinekratzner.com\/\">Gesine Kratzner&#8217;s<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/gesinekratzner.com\/blog\/\">blog<\/a> (she also has an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/blobhouse\">Etsy shop<\/a>!) that led me there. I was also taken with pieces by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dustydanger.com\/\">Dusty Genard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"The Peculiarium by frykitty, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/frykitty\/6241789672\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6101\/6241789672_98e787c8af_m.jpg\" alt=\"The Peculiarium\" width=\"240\" height=\"153\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, I ended up taking home two things I can&#8217;t show you just yet. One is a birthday gift for a friend who reads this blog, and the other is a bottle of Bat Sweat, which will go with another project. I loved this little shop, and plan on dragging unsuspecting friends there.
