Yeah, welcome to my brain.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve seen several versions of the pb-jar luminaria on Pinterest, mostly with cute jack-o-lantern faces. I wanted to\u00a0 upscale that a teensy bit, using my love for iconic movie monsters. I&#8217;m thinking of doing a whole set, but for now, you just get Frank. Yes, I know the monster didn&#8217;t have a name. It&#8217;s in honor of one of my <a href=\"http:\/\/bitey.com\/2003\/10\/frank\">favorite all-time animations<\/a>. It&#8217;s short, click.<\/p>\n<p>You will need:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5179\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-02.jpg\" alt=\"frank 02\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-02.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-02-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;Empty, clean, peanut-butter jar with lid<br \/>\n&#8211;Black Paint<br \/>\n&#8211;Decoupage glue of some sort. I use liquid matte medium from Golden<br \/>\n&#8211;Green tissue paper<br \/>\n&#8211;Glue gun<br \/>\n&#8211;Vellum or clear full-sheet stickers to print on<br \/>\n&#8211;Two twist-off plastic caps. I used water bottle caps.<br \/>\n&#8211;Corrugated cardboard scraps<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5180\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-03.jpg\" alt=\"frank 03\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-03.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-03-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Paint the lid black. I&#8217;m using cheap craft paint. It was at this point I realized I was wearing one of my favorite shirts. I changed before disaster struck.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5181\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-04.jpg\" alt=\"frank 04\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-04.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-04-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While that&#8217;s drying, cover your jar with tissue paper. Using a brush, lay down a layer of medium. Put tissue on top, then go over the tissue with more medium. I like to tear rough pieces, and encourage wrinkles, as I like the texture. Avoid the lid threads.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5184\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-05.jpg\" alt=\"frank 05\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-05.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-05-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I took a picture of Boris Karloff&#8217;s classic portrayal, posterized it, and erased everything but the facial features. Would you like to use it? <a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank.jpg\">Go for it<\/a>.\u00a0 After some fiddling with sizes, it got printed on to clear label paper (<a href=\"http:\/\/smile.amazon.com\/Avery-Full-Sheet-Labels-Inkjet-Printers\/dp\/B00006HUP7\">Avery 8665<\/a>&#8211;it&#8217;s kinda frosted, but I love the stuff). Because I have a lowly inkjet, I put a coat of matte sealer on the sticker before doing anything else.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5183\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-06.jpg\" alt=\"frank 06\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-06.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-06-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cut around the face in a natural shape (no sharp edges) and attach to the jar. Don&#8217;t worry about the edges.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5185\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-07.jpg\" alt=\"frank 07\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-07.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-07-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They get covered with a little more tissue paper to blend them in.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-09.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5186\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-09.jpg\" alt=\"frank 09\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-09.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-09-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Trim the bottle caps at the top and bottom edge so they fit the pb jar better. I should have done this before I painted them, so I wouldn&#8217;t have to do so many touch-ups. Do as I say, not as I do. Trim, then paint.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5187\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-10.jpg\" alt=\"frank 10\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-10.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/frank-10-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To create a gluing surface in the caps, I stacked and hot glued a couple bits of cardboard. Add your caps low on each side of Frank&#8217;s face, and you&#8217;re done!
