I swore I wasn&#8217;t going to paint it. I wasn&#8217;t going to turn a 2-hour project into a 2-day project. Yeah, that worked out. I used:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bowler (garage sale)<\/li>\n<li>Skulls (dollar store)<\/li>\n<li>Death figure (part of my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.secretpumpkin.com\/\">Secret Pumpkin<\/a> gift)<\/li>\n<li>Flowers (garage sale)<\/li>\n<li>Ribbon (Michael&#8217;s, $3.99)<\/li>\n<li>Purple garland (stash)<\/li>\n<li>A bunch of acrylic paint<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5391\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-01.jpg\" alt=\"bow 01\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-01.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-01-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I started by gathering possibilities, and narrowing them down.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5389\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-02.jpg\" alt=\"bow 02\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-02.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-02-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>See those flower things there? Totally on the first iteration of the bowler. The one without paint.<\/p>\n<p>I thought the wonderful Death figure would look great riding on my bowler. He&#8217;s a little heavy, but it still works.\u00a0 I added in skulls, a silky band from the same garage sale as the bowler, and some purple garland from my stash. I finished it. I took pictures. I hated it. I pried off everything but Death and the skulls, taped up Death&#8217;s legs, and started painting.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5390\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-03.jpg\" alt=\"bow 03\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-03.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-03-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, I had to go over everything several times to get much vibrancy against the black velvet of the hat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5396\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-04.jpg\" alt=\"bow 04\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-04.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-04-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bit by bit, the hat is painted in white, orange, purple, and a touch of green. I especially love the green on the skulls.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5393\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-05.jpg\" alt=\"bow 05\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-05.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-05-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That purple stuff gets glued on again, and a new hatband is attached. I actually purchased this ribbon, when nothing in my stash proved satisfactory.\u00a0 That&#8217;s right, I spent actual money on this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5392\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-06.jpg\" alt=\"bow 06\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-06.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-06-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Said ribbon got some Fray Check on the ends as a finishing touch.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5395\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-07.jpg\" alt=\"bow 07\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-07.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-07-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lastly, from the same box as the <a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/?p=4476\">Makit-Bakit crystals<\/a> came a bunch of silk flowers mounted on stick pens. Off they came, to be attached to my hat.\u00a0 And it is festive indeed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-09.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5397\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-09.jpg\" alt=\"bow 09\" width=\"750\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-09.jpg 750w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bow-09-281x300.jpg 281w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sorry, this hat will not be in the <a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/?p=5276\">raffle<\/a>.
