{"id":6532,"date":"2015-06-03T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-06-03T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/?p=6532"},"modified":"2015-08-03T09:22:46","modified_gmt":"2015-08-03T13:22:46","slug":"secret-pumpkin-led-spotlights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/?p=6532","title":{"rendered":"Secret Pumpkin: LED Spotlights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now that I&#8217;m sure it&#8217;s been received, I can post a little about what I did for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.secretpumpkin.com\/\">Secret Pumpkin<\/a> exchange this year.<\/p>\n<p>My Pumpkinee was Scott from <a href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/113924675563099363826\/posts\">Black Ops<\/a>. \u00a0He does a home haunt up in the Great White North (for those in Europe, I mean Canada, not, say, Greenland). Plan A was an enormous foam prop, of course, because my first thoughts always go to foam. But I still can&#8217;t find my preferred medium locally, and shipping something that was gonna be four feet tall or so would be, er, prohibitive. Instead, I decided to do my first-ever electronics project. I&#8217;d had this tutorial by Stiltbeast on my to-do list for a while.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rf3PltSCxSE\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>If there&#8217;s one thing a haunt <em>always<\/em> needs, it&#8217;s lights. \u00a0These little spotlights looked like just the thing.<\/p>\n<p>All the local garden stakes were solid plastic, so I went for PVC instead, which was even cheaper and allowed me to stuff some extras in the kit. I put together\u00a0a kit with 15 spotlights and everything to wire them up.\u00a0Sent it all off and realized I didn&#8217;t take a pic.
