This time: Distress Ink.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7043\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-02.jpg\" alt=\"bp 02\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-02.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-02-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To make my bats a little sparkly, I applied a couple coats\u00a0with my A Wink of Stella brush. I love this thing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7044\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-03.jpg\" alt=\"bp 03\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-03.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-03-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While that was drying, I ran a pencil around the Facet on my background paper.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7045\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-04.jpg\" alt=\"bp 04\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-04.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-04-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Using Distress Ink and a dry brush, I created a fairly deep\u00a0vignette, so it would still be visible despite the strong facets on the pendant.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7046\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-05.jpg\" alt=\"bp 05\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-05.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-05-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tissue paper doesn&#8217;t play nice with punches. You can make it behave by punching it along with a piece of plain paper. Then you verrrry carefully separate the paper from the tiny tissue shape. I punched out three bats, and made sure they were sparkle side down.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7047\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-06.jpg\" alt=\"bp 06\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-06.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-06-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I coated the entire back of the Facet with liquid matte medium.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7048\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-07.jpg\" alt=\"bp 07\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-07.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-07-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>QuickStik is extremely handy for picking up tiny things. I placed the bats sparkle-side-down on the back of the Facet. I had to hold the bat down with the tip of my pencil and carefully lift the QuickStik, as the hold was a bit strong for itty\u00a0bits of tissue. \u00a0Once the bats were arranged, I gently went over them with matte medium. Be careful not to move the bats around. Like I did.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-08.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7049\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-08.jpg\" alt=\"bp 08\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-08.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-08-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Making sure there was plenty of matte medium on the back, especially on the edges, I turned the pendant over and pressed it to the background tissue within the penciled guidelines.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-09.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7050\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-09.jpg\" alt=\"bp 09\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-09.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-09-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Working quickly, I applied matte medium to the back of the pendant, over the tissue, making sure everything was covered. With a damp fingertip, I carefully pressed the tissue, rolling my finger toward the edge, to eliminate any bubbles.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7051\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-10.jpg\" alt=\"bp 10\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-10.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-10-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I love how the back turns translucent. Now, wait for the pendant to dry completely. COMPLETELY. If you trim early, you&#8217;ll rip the tissue. Like I did.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7052\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-11.jpg\" alt=\"bp 11\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-11.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-11-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Okay, now you can trim. It&#8217;s easiest to do this right-side-up. Trim right up to the pendant edge.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-12.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7053\" src=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-12.jpg\" alt=\"bp 12\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-12.jpg 800w, https:\/\/spookymoon.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/bp-12-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I applied a coat of 3D Lacquer to the back. I like this stuff because it&#8217;s very tough, and dries clear. I could have done a dome effect, but I like the thin coat better.
