All posts for the month May, 2015
I almost never do challenges. In fact, I’m not sure I’ve ever done a challenge at a website before, but I couldn’t resist this months call-out at Haunted Design House.
They asked for an item that either took just one day to make, or involved words. I can never be counted on to finish a thing in one day, so I went for the inclusion of words. Here is my Beautiful Death Cuff.
I’m a terrible tailor, but I still had fun sewing this together, adding a little bead embroidery and a shabby flower, and making some charms.
I made sure the backs of the charms were pretty, as they move around during wear. How do I know? Because as soon as it was finished, I couldn’t resist wearing it to the movies. It is felt lined and very comfy.
It has its flaws–the button holes are a mess–but overall, I love this thing, and I’ll probably wear it often.
Sharon Wittke is the proprietor of Ravensbend Folk Art.
Much to our delight, most of her work is Halloween themed.
Trays, plates, lampshades, and other items are made to order at her Etsy shop. You can also follow Ravensbend on facebook.
Tasha, aka Werdiga, makes adorable (well, for some of us) dolls from polymer clay, faux fur, and fabric.
Look at that face! How can you not love a face like that.
She doesn’t just make spiders and monsters. There are also adorable kitties and other critters.
And spiders. Really cool spiders.
Check out her Etsy shop to take one home.
